* 15 April - 7.30pm MacNeil Theatre (Hamilton Building) Trinity College Dublin - A reception in the Gingerman Pub will take place afterwards. - €5 (no booking - tickets on sale at the door). Co-hosted by Mountaineering Ireland and TCD Climbing Club (DUCC).

* 16 April - 8.00pm Boole 1 Lecture Theatre, UCC - Reception to take place afterwards (venue TBA) - €5 (no booking - tickets on sale at the door). Co-hosted by Mountaineering Ireland and UCC Mountaineering Club.

With rave reviews and packed theatres, Andy Kirkpatrick has helped to redefine the classic ‘slideshow’ format, with an intoxicating mix of side splitting humour, bum clenching fear and an open and honest insight into the high adrenaline world of mountaineering, all of which has made him one of the most sought after international speakers on the circuit.

Andy, "Hull's second best climber", will be visiting Belfast on Wednesday 14 April, Dublin on 15 April and Cork on 16th April to talk about his life and adventures:

Against the Wall: tales from Patagonia, the Eiger and El Cap

Note this show will be different from the show last year!

For the Trinity lecture, is it starting at 7.30 or be there at 7.30?

He pulled in quite a crowd in Belfast last night.  I've never seen such a well attended climbing lecture.

Good entertaining talk as usual but very similar to his previous Belfast talks (it was about EL Cap).

£10 entry was a bit steep but it was still standing room only

He reckons somebody complained after the Belfast show that he was too funny when talking about climbing.

A great evening entertainment - and all for a fiver. Thats my sort of language! Gave Andy a lift back to his digs afterwards - charged him a tenner  Grin

Well done MI and DUCC for organising.
