Hi guys,

DCU are holding a bouldering competition on the 10th of April in aid of the Irish Meningitis Trust. A former club member of ours, Jonathan Halpin, died on a club trip to Scotland in 1996, and we present an award every year at our AGM in honour of Jonathan.

We are holding the competition this year as his family are back in the country having lived in America for a number of years, and they were touched when they found out that we were still presenting the award.

The competition will be run in a similar format to the IBL, with A and B routes, and male, female and junior competitions. After the competition, the university itself will be organising some food and maybe drinks on the campus in a function room, where the prizes and the Jonathan Halpin Award will be presented. We are also hoping to have some 'C' type routes for younger children who wouldn't be able to do A or B routes but would still like to compete.

This competition will be an ideal event as a prelude to the National Bouldering Championships in May and we hope to see as many of you as possible at the event.

We are hoping to secure some sponsorship for the event as well to provide some food and drink at the comp, and all funds raised will go straight to the Meningitis Trust (http://www.meningitis-trust.ie/Home.html

I'll post up more information about it closer to the time!

Sarah

Hi,

DCU Rock Climbing Club are holding a charity bouldering competition in aid of the Meningitis Club on the 10th of April, and we would appreciate it if you could let your members/customers know about it. I have attached 2 posters with some information about the competition, and if you could put them up at your wall or in your shop, and on your website if possible we would really appreciate it.

We are hoping for a big turn out on the day, as all funds raised will go to the Meningitis Trust.

If you would like anymore information, please email me back. Also, if you know of anyone else who would be interested in the competition, please forward them this email.

Regards,
Sarah
