We're delighted to announce that after a gap of several years that the IBL is heading north again!

Tollymore Mountain Centre (www.tollymore.com), on the edge of the Mournes, is Northern Ireland ’s National Centre for Mountaineering and Canoeing Activities. The centre is ideally located for mountain biking, hillwalking, climbing and bouldering so there's plenty to do in the area after the competition.

The routesetters are:

Michael Duffy, Ricky Bell & Jose Argudo

The competition will be split into two sessions (like we ran in Galway) with a limit of 50 entrants per session.

The schedule for the day is:

Registration: 9am
Session 1: 9.30am - 1pm
Session 2: 1pm - 4.30pm
Prize Giving: 5pm

There will be approximately 10-12 problems to be completed.

There is a system in place which will allow OPTIONAL pre-registration via the Internet so entrants can guarantee their spot in advance. Please go to the IBL page at:

http://www.climbing.ie/index.php/ibl

* You will notice "IBL Tollymore Round 5 Fee" and an Add To Cart button. This will allow payment of the IBL entry fee by PayPal. You don't need a PayPal account but you do need a credit card.

* In the Confirm Payment page you can add special instructions to the Merchant. Put in here whether you would like morning or afternoon.

* Please email ibl@climbing.ie to let us know that you've paid and whether you would prefer a morning/afternoon slot.

* Keep a printout of your receipt and bring it to the comp.

Entry fees on the day are:

Full fee: £12 (€15)
MI members/students/unwaged: £8 (€10)
Juniors: £4 (€5)

Please note that due to renovations there will be no accommodation available at Tollymore itself unfortunately.

There will be plenty of parking space available at the centre.

Thats it for the moment - note it in your diaries.

Regards,

IBL Committee

Well don't do anything crazy like cutting into your trip  Shocked

Still I hear the forecast for Sun 14th Feb is sun with a light breeze 9degC - perfect for the tors and it'll give the rain in Font a chance to clear with conditions perfect from Mon onwards.  Grin

Here's some suggested accomodation. Just note where they are in relation to Tollymore - not exactly walking distance!

I've added a page so that ye can check on the bookings here: http://www.climbing.ie/index.php/ibl/258-ibl-round-5-bookings

If you haven't booked then its a case of first come, first served on the day. Once we hit 50 registrations for the first session anyone showing up after that will be asked to wait until 1pm for the second session.

The limit of 50 per session will be strictly observed as its been requested by Tollymore management.

We won't be operating a waiting list on cancellations or no shows. If they've paid in advance then as far as I'm concerned they are there.

Thanks, Stephen

Parking is really limited at Tollymore at the minute, due to the building work.

If you arrive and the parking is full: go out of the gate, turn left, drive about 300m, take the right fork (brown sign for Tory Bush Cottages) and park in Moneyscalp wood carpark. It will take 5 mins to walk back to the centre.

Speaking of which if anyone needs a lift give me a shout. Driving up and back in the day. Need to be up there for 9am and coming back straight after. Leaving from Dun Laoghaire.

Was on to Michael Duffy last night and Trevor Fisher manager of Tollymore just now and its all going smoothly. Its going to be a great day folks!

I just need a favour. The competition ends at 4.30pm with prizes at 5pm. At 4.30pm we need to put in new starts to the top rope routes at the appropriate grade because there is a kids group coming in on Mon. Tools will be available and if a few of us muck in then we'll have things reset in an hour or so.

Can you make sure to volunteer to reset the start of a route after the competition please.

Thanks, Stephen

P.S. if there are any groups coming you'd be well advised to pre-register especially for the afternoon - see here: http://www.climbing.ie/index.php/ibl/258-ibl-round-5-bookings

Thanks to all who came up to Tollymore on the day, I hope fun was had by all. If anyone enjoyed their free massage by physical therapist Karen Doyle as much as I did, and you are interested in getting further treatment, you can find her details here www.mapleclinic.ie

The competition was super, very good problems, a nice bijou venue, 2 outdoor problems in an indoor comp (a first?), the aforementioned very very good free massages and no doubt some good after comp fun and frolics too for those of us who didn't go home to watch some French fellas play rugby.
