Well the cold spell is supposed to continue into next week so the snow will still be there. There's really not much ice about now but a recent snowfall should have added a good bit more higher up. The best spot for winter climbing is Eagle mountain, that's away from the bigger hills but it is the biggest cliff in the Mournes. It's unlikely to be in condition now though because it's not cold enough. I would suggest you head to the Bearnagh slabs because they're north facing and you can follow any line when it's got a good snow covering. The Binnian Tors as seen above provide some good mixed climbs though they're short.

Just wondering if anyone else has managed to catch any ice about the mournes or the Glens of Antrim recently?

Its been well baltic this week but I'll not get out until Wednesday so it'd be nice to know if anyone has had any luck before we go ice hunting mid week.  Glenariff was class at the stat of the year but I'm thinking it might be too warm during the day for anything to build up again?

cheers
